The residential castle in the Ukmergė area of Lithuania, next to Siesikai, is called Siesikai Castle. Gabrielius Daumantas-Siesickis constructed the Renaissance-style fortress on the Siesikai Lake in the sixteenth century. The nearby town was named after his heirs, the Daumantai, also known as the Siesicki. Dominik Dowgiałło rebuilt the masonry palace in the Neoclassical style after 1820. There were four towers in each corner of the old castle, but now there are only two left. Since 1990, the castle is being restored. #History #Architecture #Castles
