Celebrían, the daughter of Galadriel and Celeborn, married Elrond the Half-elven in the year 109 of the early Third Age. However, they did not initially stay with her because Galadriel was apprehensive and worried about the looming darkness in Mirkwood and Dol Guldur. In order to learn more about Rhovanion, she and Celeborn traveled great distances, traveling from Gondor and the Mordor borders to Thranduil in Northern Mirkwood. They also spent a lot of time in Lórien with King Amroth because Galadriel was wise enough to see that, with improved governance, this affluent realm could serve as a bastion against the expanding Shadow. Only Galadriel, Elrond, and Círdan were aware of the origins of the Order of Wizards when they arrived in Middle-earth at this time. The Wise, including Galadriel, the chief Eldar, were well aware of the evil that was residing in Dol Guldur around the year 1100, but they believed it to be one of the Nazgûl. Following their investigations, Celeborn and Galadriel crossed the mountains to Imladris, where they lived for many years with their relatives.
