The twenty-second Prince of Dol Amroth was Imrahil, also called Prince Imrahil. His two elder sisters were Finduilas and Ivriniel. In the final year of the Third Age, his daughter Lothíriel married Éomer, King of Rohan. Imrahil was the sole son born to Adrahil, the twenty-first Prince of Dol Amroth, in TA 2955. After his father passed away in TA 3010, he became the heir of the fief. He had a daughter, Lothíriel, and three sons, Elphir, Erchirion, and Amrothos, from his marriage to an unknown wife. Prince Imrahil led 700 men at arms and a company of Swan Knights to Minas Tirith on March 9, TA 3019, to assist in the defense of city. When armies of Sauron overran the Pelennor Fields on March 13, Prince Imrahil led the expedition that rode to the rescue of Faramir and the rear-guard, as they fled Osgiliath. The Winged Nazgûl fled before the light of Gandalf as he rode alongside them. Faramir was found poisoned by the Knights of Dol Amroth after they rescued him from the Southrons. Imrahil brought his nephew back to Minas Tirith. After that, Gandalf assumed control of the besieged city, with help of Prince Imrahil, since Denethor, in his insanity, withdrew to the White Tower with his dying son and neglected the defense of the city. Imrahil and Gandalf supported the defenders by making circuits of the Othram during the Siege of Gondor before assuming charge of the defense of the Great Gate. When Rohan arrived on March 15th, the defenders left the city to join them, with Imrahil spearheading the assault in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.
