Svetovit, also called Svantovit or Sventovit, is the God of War and Affluence of the Slavic tribe of –Rani- and later of all the Polabian Slavs. The cult of Svetovit was well organized with the Mai Temple dedicated to the God was the island of Ruegen (The Largest Island of Germany) at Cape Arkona. The God was described as containing Four-Heads according to Medieval Chronicles, along with horn and sword being held by the deity. Furthermore, the God was dedicated with symbolic White Horse, a Saddle, a Bit (an item regarding the tack of a horse) as well as Flag and an Eagle. Every year after a successful harvest a grand festival was held in the Honour of the God. The priests would invoke the God with a horn and a white horse and at night came down it was the belief that God himself came down to defeat his enemies. The word Svetovit translates into the Holy Lord or the Strong Lord. It is suggested that Svetovit can be considered as the underlying fundamental reality or hypostasis of Perun, the Pan-Slavic God.
