Soma is a ritual beverage that was significant to the early Vedic people according to the Vedic tradition. It is mentioned in the Rigveda, especially in the Soma Mandala. In Chapter 9, Bhagavad Gita describes the beverage. It is comparable to the Haoma in Iranian Civilization. The books explain how to make Soma by squeezing the juice from a plant, whose identity is currently unknown and up for disagreement among academics. The names of the drink and the plant are not exactly the same in Zoroastrianism and Historical Vedic religion, two ancient religions. The most likely identify of the original plant has been much in dispute. The plant is referred to as - Somalata (Sarcostemma acidum)- in traditional Indian reports, such as those from Ayurvedic, Siddha and Somayajna practitioners!
