Bofur lived in the late Third Age and was a dwarf. His most famous role was accompanying Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield, and Gandalf, along with his brother Bombur and cousin Bifur, on their mission to retake the Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug.
