Forces of Melkor attacked Gondolin in FA 510, aided by treachery of Maeglin. In an attempt to ambush the adversaries, Glorfindel and his remaining supporters defended against the Orcs from the Great Market. They were, however, ambushed themselves and engaged in combat until a fire-drake showed up. Glorfindel and his people managed to cut their way out, but the Orcs pursued them.
