Legolas remained for coronation of Aragorn and marriage to Arwen following the demise of Sauron and the One Ring. Following their earlier vow to one another, he and Gimli went to Helms Deep, where they saw the Glittering Caves, and then passed through Fangorn Forest. Legolas had apparently been so moved by the Caves that he could not speak when he left them.
