The Misty Mountains, also known as Hithaeglir, were a group of mountains that stretched between Eriador and Rhovanion, 1280 kilometers from Mount Gundabad in the far north to Methedras in the south of Middle-earth. The Sindarin Ered Hithui was an early name for these mountains.
