Amberley Castle is located in the West Sussex community of Amberley. A rhomboid-shaped stonework enclosure with high curtain walls, interior towers in each corner, a hall, and an entrance was given to the castle, which was constructed as a manor residence in the 12th century and fortified in 1377. The Chichester bishops used it as a fortification. Currently operating as a privately owned hotel, the walls, gateway, and two of the towers are still Grade I listed building.
