In the English county of Kent, between Ashford and Canterbury, sits the village of Chilham, where Chilham Castle is a Jacobean manor house and keep. Although it may have been constructed on an earlier Anglo-Saxon stronghold, the keep is Norman in origin and dates to 1174. In 1616, the manor house for Sir Dudley Digges was finished.
