Located in Põltsamaa, Jõgeva County, in eastern Estonia, Põltsamaa Castle is also known as Põltsamaa Order Castle. The Livonian Order established the castle as a strictly defensive crusader stronghold in 1272. The castle was briefly seized by Polish forces during the Livonian War.
