Clitheroe Castle is an early medieval ruin located in Lancashire, England. The large estate that ran along the western side of the Pennines was the caput of the Honour of Clitheroe. Although its exact origins are up for question, it is generally accepted to be Norman in origin and most likely constructed in the twelfth century.
