With a view of the River Eden, Appleby Castle is located in the town of Appleby-in-Westmorland. It is made up of a mansion house and Caesars Tower, a castle keep from the 12th century. These and the buildings that go with them are situated in a courtyard that is enclosed by curtain walls.
