On July 21, 1403, an army under the command of Lancastrian King Henry IV and a rebel army under the command of Henry Harry Hotspur Percy of Northumberland fought the Battle of Shrewsbury. The battle put an end to challenge of Percy to King Henry IV of England and confirmed the efficiency of the longbow.
