On the southern tip of the Danish island of Funen, close to Kvaerndrup, is where one will find Egeskov Castle. The building is the best-maintained Renaissance water castle in Europe. In 1405 A.D., Egeskov was first mentioned. Frands Brockenhuus built the castle building around 1554.
